Our beginning ....

Ch. Wyngold Taylor’s Trixie Dust was born May 7, 2004. Her parents are Ch. Splashs Country Debut & Ch. Whygolds Close Copy.

We acquired Trixie in September of 2004, after convincing my wife that a Brittany would be an excellent choice as a family pet for our daughter’s birthday present, we began the search for a breeder with puppies. On one of our trips to Central Oregon we stopped to look at dogs at Ranch Kennels in Bend, Oregon. The owner, Goldie Coats, convinced my wife of just how much a family dog a Brittany can be. With that said, we made our selection. Trixie wasn’t the prettiest puppy, but she had the personality and playfulness we were looking for – and our daughter, Taylor, loved this dog right away, and it seemed the feeling was mutual. Trixie followed Taylor everywhere she went. We returned a couple of weeks later to bring Trixie home.

Trixie was mostly a house and backyard - "city" dog who loved to point birds, butterflies, our cats and just about anything that flew. We made a lot of trips to our place in Central Oregon where she continued to get more intense on birds. In October 2006, we made the full and permanent move to Central Oregon. Trixie is now exposed to open land with lots of birds, which she’s very intent on.

At the end of 2006, our breeder saw Trixie again, and was very excited about how she’d matured. With Goldie’s encouragement and excitement, we hired handler Bob Perry to show Trixie. The rest is history, so to speak. Trixie got her first point in January 2007, at her second show. Trixie became a Champion February 11, 2007 – in just 5 weekends!

Trixie is not only a beautiful brittany but she also the best personality ever.
